When it comes to
gender inequality, women are always considered as victims of gender
stereotypes. They are believed that they are suitable for chores, so they will
be despised when their mate takes charge of the housework. Because they are
considered capable of only accounting, administration or waitress, women of
managers, taxi drivers, or engineers are commonly regarded as incapable and
incompetent. Especially when women get pregnant and they are on maternity
leave, they are always dismissed when they are ready to get back to work or
lose their chances to get promoted.
Nonetheless,
behaviors of men are inescapably restricted by social stereotypes. For example,
boys should play remote-controlled cars or Lego rather than Barbie. Also, they
will get teased or bullied easily if they dress or act girly. In the workplace,
men take harder pressures in prosperous country because they are anticipated to
be more capable and perfect. Moreover, there are fewer supports or aids offered
to men whet it comes to social vulnerable groups.
There
are too many stereotypes related to different genders. How to achieve gender
equality is still a big issue to discuss.
