Book title: Wuthering Heights
Author: Emily Brontë
In chapter one and two, a new tenant at Thrushcross Grange, Mr. Lockwood, gave a visit to his landlord, Mr. Heathcliff. The next day he returned to wuthering heights. The weather was too terrible for him to go home without any help. He asked Mr. Heathcliff to give him a guide, and his request was rejected. By taking a lantern to light up his way, Mr. Lockwood was suspected to steal it by Joseph, a servant, who latter commanded dogs to attack him. With fierce snow storm and terrible nosebleed, Mr. Lockwood was compelled him to stay one night in Wuthering Height.
With the narrative of Mr. Lockwood, I gained
a brief and basic introduction of Wuthering heights and Mr. Heathcliff, the
main character. Also, I learned some about the relationships among other
characters such as servants and the daughter-in-law.
After reading the chapter 1 and chapter 2, I
can feel that there must have something in Wuthering Heights because of the
description of Mr. Lockwood. It was weird and strange. Also, I feel confused
why Mr. Lockwood wanted to return to Wuthering Heights because he wasn’t welcomed.
It seems that there was something luring him, and I hope it will be explained
in the following chapters.
