Book title: The Life List

Author: Lori Spielman

The Life List has the perfect picture in its cover. That is one of the reasons we choose it. Lori Nelson Spielman is really a new writer for me. However, her words reveal a kind of feeling of tender and sorrow. In the first seven chapters, it mainly describes a girl who just lost her dear mother.

Brett, the main role in the book, just lost her mother. She cannot handle this sorrow, and even made herself drunk on the day of the funeral luncheon. As the only daughter and her mother’s successor, Brett was believed to become the CEO of her mother’s company. However, the position was taken by a more powerful and capable woman, Catherine, Brett’s sister-in-law.

At the same time, Brett was fired because of her mother’s order. Feeling confused, she went to her mother’s attorney for further information only to find that she needed to fulfill the life list she made when she was fourteen. Brett decided to accomplish some of the things she listed under the help of the attorney, Brad.

After reading these seven chapters, my biggest question is: why did Brett’s mother do something that cruel to her? Is there any reason? I can’t wait to find out the answer.
