Divergent written by Veronica Roth |
From the movie, I knew that the story was about A girl named Tris. She lived in a world where everyone is classified by their abilities and emotions. People with common abilities live in the same area. She later found out that she's actually different from every type and fell in love with a man who also is different. She encountered difficulties along the way of finding herself and fighting the authority.
Chapter one of the book stated that Beatrice lived in Dystopian Chicago. The people here are divided into five factions, each of which represents one of the following five virtues: selflessness, peacefulness, honesty, intelligence, and bravery. In this chapter, this was day she took her aptitude test, which was to determine which faction her mind and personality are most suited for. Beatrice won't be obligated to choose the faction the results were, but the test is supposed to help her make up her mind.
I think the things in Beatrice’s head were very humorous and kind of sarcastic in a way. And I could feel that she is insecure about choosing the right faction for her. I feel like I can relate to this because that's how I felt when I'm choosing college and choosing the department I would be studying in!
