Lexington thought she could get away from
it. Even though her father’s lawyer Bruce Spiegelmann ensured her that her
father would not change his mind, and everyone else in the house gave her the
sympathy looks, she still thought she would be just fine. She meant, she is a
Larrabee, what could possibly happen to her? 52 low wage job for a year? Her
dad was just threatening her to act like a good girl anyway.
At least that was what she thought. Unfortunately,
when she returned to Bruce’s office from Las Vegas where was the city she held
her 18th birthday party with the most severe hangover, Bruce not
only just calmly informed her that she should be at work in 20 minutes, but
also told her that Luke Carver, her worst enemy, would “babysit” her for the
rest of the year.
She was so mad. She was so mad at Bruce,
at Luke, at her father, at everything. They did not have the right to say she
was a spoiled brat that deserved to clean toilets for a whole year because
nobody in her life, through these 18 years, had really taken care of her.
Nobody had ever shown her love and affection.
But there was nothing else she could do
but to really just go to the place she was supposed to work in for the next
week with Luke’s accompany because he threatened to call her father if she didn’t
comply to the order.
So now she had to be the maid for a huge
mansion.
Like I said last time, Lexi wasn’t really
the nicest person in the world, and it was rather funny to see her being
frustrated about how she even had no idea how to turn on a vacuum machine. But
I also felt bad for her since she was only acting immaturely because she didn’t
know what to do. She was just trying to guard herself from being hurt again
because if you don’t have expectations you won’t be disappointed. I do hope she
would learn from the experience. Even though I am still just reading it, but I am
pretty sure Lexi’s father does this to her for a reason, a good one. He
probably just wants her to grow up and try to take her own responsibility.
I am interested in reading more and I am
also curious what Lexi’s next job would be.
