Log #3

As to investigate who off the assassin the dagger, Catelyn decided to go to King's Landing with Ser Rodrick. They took a ship by bribing a veteran captain, paying he and his crew members a huge amount of gold dragons. However, no sooner Catelyn arrived at an inn at King's Landing, someone knocked the door and said," Open the door, from your king's order." She was frightened for nobody should ever know her arrival in the city. She though maybe it was the captain who betrayed her, and she would have known there was no one to trust. She opened the door warily with the dagger in hand. To her surprise, it was a guard sent by her player in the childhood, Littlefinger, aka Lord Baelish. The guard was commanded to take her to a brothel run by Littlefinger, and fortunately the guard was not so clever to recognize who she was.
She was led into a brothel where music was playing softly and light looming. Inside a chamber, a bald-headed man was sitting against the wall, and Littlefinger was smiling for her presence. The bald man was a eunuch, the whisperer for the king, and Catelyn knew this man, Lord Varys. Before she could start to explain her intention of coming to King's Landing, Varys abruptly said," Show us the dagger." "How could Varys know?", Catelyn thought. She suggested that he must have used some black magic, even an information master would not have the capability to obtain such secret. She throw the dagger on the table, and it was recognized by Littlefinger. It belonged to Tyrion Lannister, the Imp.
On the same day after the concuil, Ned was called by Lord Baelish, the man he disgusted. Littlefinger asked him to follow, and said that his wife Lady Stark was at the brothel, which irritated Ned. He pulled out his dagger and held Littlefinger against the wall. Suddenly, someone burst out and told Ned to stop. It was Ser Rodrick. Ned was really confused, but made up his mind to see what was going on. Inside, Catelyn told him what they had found out from the dagger. Yet it would be a risk to accuse the Imp with a simple dagger, and if they lose, it would be considered as treason. They needed more evidences.
First of all, I can tell from the plot that even money talks, it is not a way that only ourselves know, our rivals, enemies know it as well. It revealed that human nature is truly greedy. A man does not serve merely a master at once. As I said, money talks, but it doesn't choose who to talk with. To continue, I was terrified by how informative Lord Varys was. This kind of people does exist in our society, and it's definitely creepy to learn that your each and every move is watched by somebody all the time. In the conclusion, there's a thing I think worthy of mentioning. I learn something else more from this extract, and that is don't ever try to do some vile things as if others would never unfold the darkest secret of you. If unfortunately you have done something dirty then don't worry for others' comments on you. After all, as you make your bed, so you must lie on it. I know it's a different situation compared to the scenario above, but the essence is the same.
