Book: Percy Jackson and the Olympians ----
The Titan’s Curse
Author: Rick Riordan
It
all started with a mission of saving new half-bloods. Percy, Annabeth and
Thalia got the message from Grover. It seemed that Grover, as a satyr, had
found some new blood for Camp Half-blood. (Percy didn’t know Thalia well, he
just heard some stories about her, but he knew that Thalia’s father was Zeus.) When
they got to the place where Grover asked them to go, they met the monster,
which looked like a normal human. After discussing the strategy, they decided
not to be so suspicious. As a result, they separated. While Percy was focusing
on talking to Annabeth and pretending they were doing nothing, the monster had
already taken the half-bloods away.
Percy decided to find out where the two half-bloods are, however, he was
tricked by the monster. When he asked Grover for help through some weird way,
they all came to his rescue. During the fight, a group of girls came and helped
them. In the process, they lost Annabeth, who fell of the cliff with the
monster sadly. The Hunters and their boss, Artemis didn’t try to save Annabeth.
They thought she was dead. What’s worse,
The Hunters successfully persuaded one of the half-blood called Bianca join
them. As a result, Bianca’s brother Nico was alone now. Disappointed, Percy had
nothing to do but leave for Camp Half-blood with the rest of people. When they
finally got to the camp and informed Chiron the news, he was not so optimistic
about Annabeth. What should Percy do? Leave the camp for Annabeth? Corporate
with Thalia?
The
best part of this book is that all the things didn’t start in a good way. We got
tragedy and separation, which people love to see. Even though Percy didn’t get
along quite well with Thalia as far as I could read, I knew that heroes must
know that unity is strength. In order to reach their goal, they should not
leave each other alone.
