It all began from it... the doom of the Winterfell was destined. After recalling the past, King Robert revealed the purpose of the trip to the North. Since the former Hand of The King - Jon Arryn was dead, he needed a man to take over the place, a man who was trustworthy. Ned would be the suitable candidate to play this role. Loyal as he was, he would be the last person to betray the king. It was a great honor for any man be chosen for the Hand, but not for Ned. He knew he belonged to the North, like he deeply knew that his daughter Sansa would be married to Robert's firstborn son, prince Joffrey. However, there was no room for rejection, no one had ever disobeyed the king's order.
Lord Stark decided to take his daughters Sansa, Arya and Bran, his youngest son to the King's Landing as companions. Bran liked to climb up and down the wall of the Winterfell, for he could see many things from different angles, thus he knew a lot of secrets that others were not able to know. Such as the secret paths to certain gates and some views only appreciated by pigeons. Some said he learnt how to climb before learning how to walk. He enjoyed the feeling of being invisible to some extent, and since he was about to leave the place he had never walked a step out, the best way to farewell was to give it a last climb. As usual, he climbed through one and one of the structures, but what really caught his attention was the abandoned tower of the Winterfell. He had heard about it, a great fire had devoured the whole tower. With his curiosity he climbed toward the tower, and noticed some strange voices. He wanted to climb closer to listen more clearly about what they were talking, he moved carefully with all his strength, then he saw a man and a woman, wrestling with each other while making some noises. Suddenly the woman turned her head up and her eyes were matched with Bran's. She scream out loud, and Bran was terrified when he wanted to climb back. With anxiety Bran lost his balance, and he was holding on the edge of the window, trying not to smash like a pumpkin on the ground. The man came over to catch his hand and pulled him up. It's the King Slayer, with the queen naked. "What I did for love," said the King Slayer. Before Bran could react, he felt a hand in front of his chest, and he was on the ground.
The whole Winterfell had fallen into a treacherous mood. Lady Stark had been taking care for Bran day and night without resting. One day, the library was on fire while Lady Stark was with her firstborn son Robb, and she was in a hurry to rescue Bran. However, Robb convinced her that the fire would never cross the water so Bran was safe, and then he would take care of the fire. As he said so, Catelyn let go of him, and she went to check Bran. No sooner, she heard someone grumbling, "You shouldn't be here," then a man pulled out his dagger and rushed to Bran. She was frightened. After a fight between them, Robb and other people ran in. They found the dagger in the assassin's head was no thing of an ordinary man. Someone wanted Bran's death. Someone did it to keep his/her secret...
I thought it was a sign for misfortune. Lord Stark was not only the ruler of the Winterfell, but also their spiritual leader. If such an important man left there, what would happen to Winterfell was predictable. Moreover, as the author revealed how vicious the Lannisters were by telling the incident of Bran. Besides, their unethical relationship made them as close as an inseparable individual, who knows what's going to happen on Ned? For the Lannisters would want to hold all the power in their hands, Ned is definitely a threat that can not be ignored. It seems that the destiny of the House Stark had been done, Ned was bring he and his family into a great danger since he decided to follow the king. I wonder how much would it cost the Starks for their loyalty? Their fortune? Or all of their lives?
