Book title: Wuthering Heights
Author: Emily Brontë
Heathcliff started his revenge in the following chapters. He tried to make
everyone painful, including his soul mate Catherine and his own son Linton. After
a series of miseries, Heathcliff and Catherine finally united in death and
Cathy and Hareton got married.
This novel really defines what love is. Love can make someone lose his
mind, even go crazy, like Heathcliff and Catherine; however, love can make someone
better, even conquer everything, like Hareton and Cathy. In my opinion, it is
very interested that Heathcliff and Hareton had so different endings. They were
something in common. Both of them had miserable childhood and didn’t quite understand
what love was. Also, they both met their soul mates who changed and influenced
their life forever. However, love made Heathcliff more tragic but made Hareton
better. I think it was what the author tried to express. Love is double-edged sword.
So be careful of this strong emotion and make good use of it! Try to make
ourselves improve with love instead of making ourselves be blind in love.
