After finding that everything Rachel has told him were all lies, Scott threatens Rachel to kill her. Rachel turns to Tom for help to remember what had exactly happened at that Saturday night. Reproved by Tom on the phone, it strikes the drunk Rachel what really happened--she was attacked by Tom, and Megan got on his car at that night. Moreover, she has been deceived for so many years that the drunk Rachel did so many wrong things making Tom ashamed. Rachel goes to Anna to ask her to run away from Tom, while Anna, who has already had a vague guess for the fact about the murder, couldn't figure out what to do. Then, Tom's home. After revealing everything, Tom appeases Anna and is going to "deal with" Rachel. In the end, Rachel kills Tom, and Anna tells the police that it is self-defense. Rachel leaves the town, and she thinks one day she could get out of this nightmare.
There are three female characters in this story: Rachel, Anna, and Megan. Rachel finds that the man she loves is an illusion. Tom has pretended to be that kind of man Rachel needs, enjoying fooling Rachel after she's drunk. Maybe Tom once loves Rachel; however, her happy life she thought to be is still an illusion. Anna loves being wanted by men. She never feels sorry for their affair behind Rachel. Then, she finds out Tom is a liar, pretending to be strong, great, loyal, and appealing. Her dream of leading a happy life would no longer come into reality, for Tom is a liar, for Tom lies to her in the very beginning. Megan is a woman with overwhelming history; her past is just a mess. So she is afraid of being alone, and she has relationships with different men. So she is afraid of being gave up, and she screams at the indifferent Tom. Megan is killed, by Tom, and by her past.
