Book: The Life List
Author: Lori Nelson Spielman
Pages: 272-331
It comes to the very end of this book. Sanquita was dead. Her mother, Tia Robinson, came to hospital for her grand daughter, Austin. Brett was so upset because she had no evidence that Sanquita gave the baby to her and Ms. Robinson had a large chance to win the fight because of the relationship between she and Austin. However, at the end Jean, the person took care of the Joshua House, stood up and showed the letter Sanquita had written before her death. That was how Brett got the baby Austin.
On the other, Brett finally had a big breakthrough to her relationship. At the front part of this week she had pretty good days with Herbert but found out herself no love towards him. On the day of her mother’s birthday, she accidentally met Dr Garrett, the man she loved discovered him the Burberry man that she met on the street and train. The author did not write out everything, but from the epilogue, I know they were together and had a wedding.
The part in the fourth week that impressed me the most is where Brett was wondering if she should marry Herbert or find the person she really loved. What I see is a huge change in Brett. Think about it. Before her mother’s death, she had been an office staff, but sitting in an office and dealing with those numbers and managements are not what Brett wants deeply in her heart. Still, she had chosen to give up due to the reality. However, after the experience and the pursuing of her dreams, she got the courage to choose what she wants, which is the true love.
It must be really difficult to choose the correct decision to life because the voices around influence us. We have to stay to our heart and create a life of happiness and pleasure on our own. I want to share a quote Brett said: ‘Fairy godmothers can only do so much. I think we each hold the power to grant our own wishes. We just need to find the courage.’ We must always be brave to pursue our life.
