Book: Go Set a Watchman
Author: Harper Lee
Page: ~16
Our group chose this book, which was written by Harper Lee. I know she was quite famous but I've never read any of her works because I usually read chick literature.
The first chapter was mainly about Jean Louise going back to Maycomb to visit her father. On the train, Jean Louise thought about many memories of her family, especially with her father, Atticus. Since she left Maycomb to New York, she doesn't go back home very often. I thought about my father as well. My father currently works in Shanghai now and I only get to see him once in several months. Of course, I miss him a lot but I get used to it.
After Jean Louise arrived home, Henry Clinton, her best friend (although I wouldn't say "best friend") came to pick her up. What I thought interesting was the conversation between them. You could just tell that their relationship is very important to both of them. I also like a sentence in the book: Love's the only thing in this world that is unequivocal. There're different kinds of love, but if you really love someone, you just know it. There's another sentence I like: If you did not want much, there was plenty. I thought it was quite meaningful because people nowadays are just so greedy that we are always unsatisfied with what we have. We want more and more and would neglect what damages we are causing to our environment or hurt people around us.
The book wasn't so bad as first as I thought and I'm actually looking forward to what will happen between Jean Louise and Henry Clinton (can't help it that I love romance)
