Log #1

Since six years ago, a TV series has gone viral all around the world, and it becomes an necessity in our daily life. That's right, it's GOT, Game Of Thrones. I had seen it on HBO once, but at that time I wasn't familiar with the plot, thus I didn't think it's my type of TV series, and I quit it. However, last summer vacation when I was looking for a great TV series it came to my mind. I suddenly decided to give it one more chance, I mean, why not? There's must be some reasons that make it so popular. So I started to watch it from the first episode of the first season, and I gradually found out that I was so addicted to it because I wasn't able to stop myself watching it continuously every time when I tried to shut my lap top for it. It's soundtrack is magnificent as well, and the animation of the starting contains a  deeper meaning, which impress me a lot.
Game Of Thrones is a story about an ancient dynasty with seven kingdoms in it. Basically, the whole story circles around the House Stark. The book began from an introduction of some important characters, such as Catelyn Stark, wife of Eddard Stark, Lord of Winterfell, who also called as Ned Stark, and Cersei Lannister, wife of the king, Robert Baratheon. The author roughly narrated what had happened before Robert became the king at the beginning. It was a time of chaos, and the one sitting on the iron throne, Aerys Targaryen, also known as the Mad King was a tyrant. At that time, Robert, Ned and other lords couldn't stand him for his cruel behaviors anymore, so they started the rebellion. It ended out that they had succeeded in the civil war.
After decades, two old friends Ned and Robert had their reunion at the Winterfell, they were close like brother on the battle field. King Robert came from south, the capital, King's Landing, with his wife, offsprings , and the bannermen. He asked Ned to take him to the Crypt of the Winterfell to mourn for the only woman he loved, Lyanna. Lyanna Stark was his wife before Rhaegar of the house Targaryen kidnapped her, and due to some complicated factors she died at the end of the rebellion. Except for all the Mad King had done to their friends, relatives and siblings, that's the key reason which caused  Robert's rebellion.
Why did Robert come to meet Ned from a place hundred miles away from Winterfell? Was it only to mourn the woman he deeply loved and see an old friend, or he had other plans inside his mind?
Game Of Throne includes a part of science fiction, history, and socialism. For instance, it reflects that tyranny must lead a dynasty fall, and the author uses a plenty of metaphor in the story. It's violent, bloody, erotic, but is these characters that make the book an epic. It's not merely a novel, at some aspects it's like a portray of modern society, how people fight against corrupt authorities, and how good people die from their loyalty. Even though I have finished the whole six seasons before HBO released the seventh one, I'm still looking forward to see what surprises I will find by reading it. After all, it all begins with this book.
