My Reading History

I am sure that I am a reader. Interested in almost all kinds of books, I can always lose myself in the world filled with books. There are so many books that can catch my eye and make me fall in love with them at first sight. However, some books might not be so attractive at first, but quickly touch me when I browse through the pages. For me, my most unforgettable book is a detective one called Yōgisha X no Kenshin (嫌疑犯X的獻身) written by Japanese writer called Higashino Keigo(東野圭吾). The book is mainly talking about the investigation of a police department. Although it is a detective story, we can still see some love and hatred behind the crime. The reason why I can never forget the content is because that even though people in the story commit crime that is unbearable, there are some factors that cause the behavior. So the book not only taught me to look thing from the other side, but also taught me to rethink what is really important to me. From then on, all the detective book became my favorite.
I became a reader in Chinese due to the fact that my mother bought me the Sherlock Holmes Series when I was about ten. The series was so fascinating that I was immersed to the book from the first time I read it. Later on , I can’t help but read them repeatedly. As for English. I hadn’t read much. My first English novel was Harry Potter. Though the vocabulary wasn’t too hard, I spent some time on it. The reason that I get in touch with the English version is that many people told me it is more interesting to read English version than Chinese version. The answer is…… Yes! They were right!

Having reading habit (though it’s mostly Chinese book) completes my life. I can turn to the books whenever I felt down or depressed. My mother was the one who made me read when I was little. She would sit beside me and read the words to me. After I can understand the words, she then asked me to read to her. Later on, she would even asked me to write a story myself. It is clear that my mother made me a reader (even a writer), thanks to her, I am not afraid of reading words like some other people. This is my reading history.

  1. I really love Sherlock Holmes as well! It's very interesting to see him and Watson solving cases together. I think reading Sherlock Holmes requires A LOT OF thinking, and you have to use your brain a lot. But in the end, the series were awesome.
