My Reading History

First of all, I do consider myself a reader in both Mandarin and English, but I didn't have too many chances to read English books when I was a child all I got were the Mandarin ones. However, most of  favorite books are written in English or translated from it. I still remember a book I just finished a few months ago, and it's called WOOL. It was recommended by my classmate, and since the moment I read it, I was totally fascinated by its plot. It uses a lot of metaphors to describe how it is like to live in a society of communism, how power could make a person corrupt. What makes it unique is that its plot is full of delicate description, which an ordinary author can't manage to do.
When I was in kindergarten, there was a pile of books on the shelf for pupils to read, and without any specific reason I used to grab a cup of milk and sit down to read. Gradually, it becomes a habit. I would feel uncomfortable if I didn't read a book or two for a day, and I like to browse books in bookstores. The atmosphere of bookstores was the main reason that kept me going to bookstores, and anytime when I was in a bad mood I would go there to search for serenity.
As for who made me a reader I think it's myself that did it, but when I became a student of middle school and high school I lost this habit and played online games all the time. Nearly none of my classmates had interest in reading so it was hard for me to have common topic around reading with them. Thankfully, not only because I have more time to read now but also I have a bunch of classmates who have a great interest in reading, and that made me find the passion of reading back again. Now if time allows, I would read when I am in my leisure time, and try not to lose this good habit once again.
