BOOK: The Last Pope
AUTHOR: Luis Miguel Rocha
PAGE:1~70
‘Why does a man run? What
makes him run? Some people seek glory. Others want to win a race or just lose a
few pounds. But they always run for the same reason: they run for theirs lives.’
These sentences appear in the first paragraph of the first page. We all
struggle for what we are doomed, fight for what we long for and chase what we
believe in. However, we live in a universal and connected tightly world, so
there will be misunderstanding, diversity and sacrifice among people’s
interaction and humanity while we reaching our goals.
Three aspects describe
three characters’ lives and tell detailed things around the last pope’s dead:Monsignor
Firenzi’s miserable life ended in protecting some mysterious papers, Sister
Vincenza’s fixed daily routine of taking care of Don Albino Luciani broken by
finding her lord dead and Sarah Monteiro’s ordinary work erupted by one of her
received envelops containing those papers.
It seems to be full of mysteries in this novel, and it's interesting to me!!! I'm looking forward to the following part of it:)
