Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer
by John Grisham
Pages: 1-155
This is a book about a kid lawyer. I am curious about how a kid could be a lawyer, and I think I can figure it out in the following chapters of this book.
To be honest, it's easy to guess how the story will develop: (1) The thirteen-year-old kid, Theodore Boone, will prove the innocence of a guilty man or (2) He will find the evidence showing the guilt of a man who committed a perfect crime. And it turns out to be (2). However, it's hard to tell until the chapter eight because from chapter one to seven, it keeps introducing the background. For example: why does Theodore want to be lawyer, what kind of crime it is described in the book, and Theodore's classmates, family, dog, and their town. I know these are important information (some of them), but it's a little boring. Fortunately, in the chapter eight, Theodore finds a surprising witness and gets involved in this murder crime. It's exciting, and I can't wait to know how the plot goes.
In this story, I get to learn a lot about the America court and laws, and I have known some of which from other movies and novels. It's still cool anyway. The America court is different from the one in Taiwan and of course far different from the one in the television. I will keep reading, find out how could Theodore be a lawyer in the courtroom, and know more what I am not familiar with.
