I used to be a reader, I think. I started to
read when I was in elementary school. I used to borrow books such as novels and
picture books in the school library every week. Also, I went to the national
library with my siblings from time to time. At that time, of course, I only read
Mandarin books. However, I began to read some English articles and magazines
when I was a senior high school student. After I majored in English, I read
more English books or articles than Mandarin ones. Unfortunately, although I began
reading English books, the number of books I read has decreased since my time
was taken with exams.
The book I still like very much is “The
Perks of Being a Wallflower”. One of the reasons is that it was the first English
novel I have read. In addition, I think the book is fresh to me. All the
contents are composed of the letters that Charlie writes to a stranger. Next,
the stories touch me. Since I have similar age with the roles in this novel, it
is easy to arouse my resonance when Charlie encounters some problem. Last, the main
reason why I like this book is that it lets me know we may feel confused when
we are young, but things may become clear as time goes by. Be positive!
Actually, as I grow up, I tend to read for
exam instead of reading for my interest. Luckily, this summer vacation, I retrieved
my passion for reading. I start reading the novel I am interested in even
though I read slowly.
My friends make me a reader. Some of my
friends like to read in their leisure time. Sometimes, they recommend me some
good articles or novels to read. What’s more, we even buy books to each other
as presents occasionally.
