My Reading History

I consider myself as a reader sometimes, but sometimes not. I still remember that when I am in elementary schools, I really like to read, and I read every single day. The person who inspired me to read is one of my teachers in my elementary school. She used to read The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Stories of Anansi in the class. I thought it is very interesting to read the stories, so I started to borrow books from the school library. That's why I love to read now.

The first series I read were A-Z Mysteries Series because I like the stories that include the solving details or suspenseful details. It gives me more imagination about the stories as well as the tension that kept me immersively in the story. Later on, when I got older in the higher grades in elementary, I started to read about Arsene Lupin or Sherlock Holmes. The tell-tale heart and some books of Nancy Drew were also on my reading lists.

However, as I entered the high schools, I stopped reading since I was under a large pressure at the time because my parents wanted me to get high scores in order to enter a better university. Even though we had a class where we should always bring a book to read, but it is the requirements from the teachers. It is not my intention to read, so I think I was not a reader at my high school time.

At the third year of senior high school, I was sure that I am entering NTUST, so I got more time to do what I want to do. I started to pick up the reading hobbies again. What I read the first is Animal Farm. I think it is very hard to understand because it reflects the events of the Russia changes. The one I like the most is Pride and Prejudice. The reason is that it talks about the humanity in an interesting story.
