Into the Wild
"Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose." - Kris Kristofferson
The 2007 movie "Into the Wild" is definitely one of the most unforgettable masterpieces that I have ever seen as far as I could remember. The director and the scriptwriter perfectly depicted a true, incredible journey of one man, Christopher McCandless, who had shown the greatness of mankind and the desire to be set free. Even though I have already seen this movie for many times, I still get inspired and be encouraged by the story every time.
The title literally explains everything about this film: a young university graduate gave up his family, bright future, ID card, bank account, etc. He burned basically everything that can prove his "existence" with fire and then, stepped onto a one-way trip to Alaska. The reason behind these actions was all due to his disbelief in modern society, which values money and power than humanity.
It's this fast pace world that consumes our spirit and willingness to take risks of doing things we think we never would. The only way to pursue freedom is that we have nothing to lose. It would be the time when we begin to fing something worth living for and achieve greatness with renewed minds.
"If we admit that human life can be ruled by reason, then all possibility of life is destroyed." - Christopher McCandless
