When it comes to social status, the issue of gender inequality has always occurred generation by generation. In the last semester, I've read a book called "Pride and Prejudice." In this book, the two main characters make hasty judgement about each other when they first meet. However, the tradition that men should have more power on social status than women and should be the dominator in the relationship with women makes them go through more difficulties of finding their affection toward each other.
This book reminds me that even in this era gender inequality of social status still exits. As for the politics, most of the statesmen are male in Taiwan. Female statesmen are always considered manly and rude rather than capable and intelligent. As for the company, men are always the first priority of choosing as managers no matter how they perform in the workplace. There are too many examples showing how the society treats the different genders in a unequal way.
