The myth of going viral on the Internet

People nowadays surf on the Internet every day. It has become our daily routine, and we can not live without them. So what are the benefits it brings to us and why we are so dependent on it? It brings us the newest things and knowledge and its convenience is one of the very important elements. However, things are not going so simply. The very core idea of Internet is connection. That is, it can make separated people become a group only by a click or a sharing.

Look Facebook, Twitter, and Instgram. Such social media helps us get new information or friends' movement easily. According to statistics, the vast majority of the news that people see on Twitter- around 95%- comes directly from its original source or from one degree of separation, so we don't need to worry that we may get a very wrong information. What's more, sharing can also help some people or company that few know become famous. It promises small-time writers, photographers and videographers that a moment's inspiration can transform into sudden fame. Their works or product and be advertised just by every single click and sharing.

Internet can be viewed as a convenient and efficient broadcast, and this is why things can go viral easily through the Internet. It does bring a lot of benefits to us as long as we use it in a proper way. After all, there is nothng in the world perfect, we should control it carefully is case it should really "go viral" and this one people aren't wanna see.
