Sea level rising can cause not only economic and physical repercussions but also the effect it would have on someone’s thinking – mental health. According to this news report, there were many family which were hit by flooding. For them, there was no time to think or calculate just working like there is no tomorrow. As a result, with these concerns comes a plethora of issues plaguing the human mind, such as depression, worry, anxiety, substance abuse, aggression and even suicide among those who cannot cope. If we don’t try to understand what they feel, we don’t know how devastating natural disasters are. And I think I can understand.

About one year or two years ago, a typhoon struck Taiwan. At the beginning, I thought that it was normal and nothing to worry due to the climate of Taiwan but I was totally wrong. At night, water was leaking from windows as the rain becoming heavier! Worst of all, my house started to swing slightly such as tremor because of the strong wind and I felt very scared because it didn’t happen before. Consequently, my family did not sleep to clean it all night so we felt tired and shocked. After that, we started to take precautions against typhoon to prevent the same situation happening again when typhoon was coming but the only what we can do about swinging was prey. So this report really touched me because I had felt the same fear when a severe typhoon is coming.
