Log #2

We live in a society a lot of people think that men deserve more rights than women. As a young woman, the thought of men and women are actually not equal is scary. I have been taught that I am capable of as much things just as a man since I was little. I am from a family where females take over most of the population. My mom, my grandmother, my great aunt, and my aunts are all very successful in their own workplaces, some even run their own companies, yet it comes to me very late to realize that there are still a lot of women limited to be successful due to gender inequality.

We live in a time when the president of a great nation could publicly tell people to grab life women’s genitals, and refer to the genital part “pussy”. He also called the candidate competed with him “a nasty woman” on television during their election debate. The worst part is people actually cheer for him for saying those disrespectful things. It simply breaks my heart. A president of a country should not act like this, in fact, no human being should act like this.

I don’t know since when people start to think that men are superior than women, but this is simply wrong. Wrong. In my opinion, despite the gender, people all should pay respect to each other. As a feminist, I could also say this: women are actually tougher than men. Why? First, women bleed every month. Men could not understand dripping blood 24/7 for a week per month from the age of 13 to 50, and suffering from severe menstrual pain at the same moment, but women deal with it all the time. Second, women carry a baby for 9 months and continuously be responsible for the baby for the next 20 years. How is this not tough?

I hope that people would one day finally realize that what your gender is doesn't really matter, because your gender doesn't define who you are, the way you treat people does.
