A conflict occurs when injustice exists.
“Discrimination” exists everywhere. Sexism,
ageism, homophobia, racism, and so on fall into the “discrimination” category. It
is common when reading certain articles, so-called trolls(酸民) tend to respond fiercely below.
Take a news for instance, a 58-year-old man
married an 18-year-old women. Many people took different viewpoints on this
relationship. Some irresponsibly wrote down “gross,” and some considered their
love to be doomed. Despite several mean opinions, the couple insisted that
their love could conquer all rumors, and that those haters would never bother
them. After reading all bad-and-good comments below the news, only one thought occurred
to my mind-Seriously? Are you the ones who are going
to spend the rest of life with that old man?
Everyone is an individual; if we can’t understand,
why not just try to respect?
Although one person, two person, or even
more have awareness of the importance of diversity, still there are many people
holding discriminations in their minds. One of the better ways to spread the
message is turn to those who have prestige and reputation like significant companies
and remarkable brands. Coca-cola co play a good model in this controversial
issue. According to the New York Times “Coca-Cola Serves Up Gay-Friendly Ad for
All Genders, Generations”, it launched a gay-friendly ad, which featured a
brother and a sister vying for the attention of a handsome boy. They raced to
give a coke to that handsome boy but in the end their mom had given him a coke.
This ad is quite interesting and visionary.
Through a famous company’s address, people would raise their awareness of
respecting diversity. Other than one company, we still need more attention
toward this issue because the minority deserve their human rights, and we as
human beings have no right to abase every individual without rational reasons. What
I hope is that one day our universe would become much more beautiful with no
discrimination.
