I read a feature story called campus rape which was posted on Rolling Stone. The content was vivid, terrible and shocking. A girl was raped by the fraternity. People scolded the university, putting emphasis on campus security. The university even punished the fraternity, suspended all the activity of the fraternity. Police officer intervened in the case. In the end, the rape turned out to be fake, and all the story told by the victim didn't exist.
It was a famous story of media misleading. Rolling Stone was a popular magazine. However, it didn't inspect the authenticity of what it reported and misled the crowd. Living in the society that is full of data and easy to get various information, we should be aware of what is true and tell facts from lies.
