For me, a nineteen-year-old college student who grows up in a safe and loving environment where little children girls especially barely are forced to be sex slaves, where criminal cases such as rape seldom occur, it is hard to imagine how would it be if females are regarded as a possession of men. Sadly, the truth is, even though we humans are proud of what we have gone through so far, to what high extent our civilization has come, there are still some chauvinists who don't respect women and make them tools so as to content their libido. The article I have read is written by Masizole Gonyela, a journalist from South Africa. He pointed that men are supposed to be their wives and daughters protectors, yet they become predators. They do nothing when their female family members get raped; they sit back watching strangers or even their relatives hurt the innocent.
Rape, it may be a word seldom appears in my life; however, it does exist. This article reminds me how frighting it is. One thing stroke my mind when the author accuses that whoever knows this unbearable situation but does nothing is also the accomplice and is to blame. The author makes me realize that I am also guilty. Though it isn't me who do harm to the poor victims, I don't do anything to help eliminate this horrible crime. I started to think what I can do to stop this evil conduct, and so far I have come up with a way: I can do some research and collect as many relevant stories, speeches, articles as possible and then spread them to my friends. By doing this, there will be more and more people notice the difficulties those are encountering. What's more, the more attention means the more people know, so we can use this as a tool to urge the government to put its face on this problem.
