How Taiwanese politicians effect on economy of Taiwan
A country becomes stronger not only for its people, resources, but also effected by its politic factors. Countries like the U.S., England and others in the west, Japan, Malaysia in the east are prosperous. They have all conditions that a powerful country needs. However, Taiwan has these conditions as well, the only difference lies in the political issue. Usually, we can see on TV news in Taiwan that politicians tend to argue with each other or having physical conflict rather than using their intelligence to debate against their rivals. Despite of the fact that the U.S. has political parties as we do, but the essential spirit is completely different.
No businessmen or any politicians around the world would not want to make their own benefit, but politicians in Taiwan do it just too over. We can tell it from a various kinds of issue. The roads in Taiwan compared to other countries are far more rugged, and not because the workers didn't build the road well, but because the politicians asked for budget to add an extra layer on a road that needs no renovation. The purpose of making such politic does not mean these politicians are too stupid to make the right call, instead, they are too smart to know how to take good advantage from it. By taking the rest of the budget to do whatever they want. The grand opening of Taoyuan International Airport MRT is a big event recently. Nonetheless, the whole construction should be finished a decades ago or even earlier. Our government started this project at the same time as Hong Kong government did. Same time, different constructing period, and a totally distinct result. One more concrete instance. We all know that buying foreign auto mobiles in Taiwan is a luxurious behavior, the same car sold in the west is half the price that it is sold in Taiwan. The price differs in a major scale since our government wants us to buy cars made in Taiwan, but they should try to make the performance of these domestic cars rather than forcing us to buy it.
A country is formed by its citizens, and it needs a bunch of people to lead the people to its glory, and politics have accounted for too many aspects of a country. If politicians in Taiwan keep making decisions concerning their own good; I am afraid that one day it would no longer be the Formosa that foreigners used to call this island. In the end it may stagger to its doom. So let's wait and see, to anticipate that one day a hero or heroine would come rescue this beautiful land.
