In the article "Psychoeducational Intervention Program about Posttraumatic Growth for Japanese High School Students" by Kanako Taku, a researcher from Department of Psychology of the Oakland University which is located in the USA. The article proved that students cannot get higher growth under pressure, which is against a strong believed in the Japanese Education system. In fact, most of the Japanese High-school students get a huge amount of stress from the homework, the classmates, teachers and of course, the strict rules of the school. The article is a little bit hard to understand since there are some professional psychological terms, but I feel like I could relate to the high school students in Japan since I also feel stressful when my parents or teachers compare my grades to my peers, and sometimes their words can be really harmful to hear. I do not think the believed: Stress can make youth grown, is wrong. However, young people like high school students need more than stress; they also need someone to courage them and love them. Not just in Japan, but in other countries of the world as well, including Taiwan.
