Our team's topic of our project is going to be aiming towards how social media impacts on teenagers (mostly on girls). The article I've chosen to read for this week was "Celebrity Influence On Your Teens's Body Image" (Link provided below). By reading this title, it is clear that the target reader of it is parents whose son or daughter is a teenager. However, I'm still interested in its content so I decided to write about it.
Everyone's body started to change dramatically in adolescent. Because of that, teenagers often feel self-conscious about themselves. Furthermore, they often use social media as a validation for their bodies. Models, TV stars and movies are all the sources they could look for the "perfect" body image which they want to imitate.  Due to wanting to look "perfect", they usually go for unhealthy strategies to lose weight.
I started to look up to idols on TV and admire theirs bodies when I was 14. Because I was naturally a curvy girl, I struggled to lose weight, and that made me extremely unhappy. I even became suicidal and almost sent to therapy. But the truth, which I realized later, was everyone is beautiful in their own way. Everyone is different. We shouldn't be comparing with anyone else.
